Fixing
Manner castors are available to be fixed in four ways: a centre single bolt-hole, a stem fitting, a rectangular top plate or a threaded stem. Light equipment, equipment, Wheel 2000 and Tango castors can also be fixed with an expander. If you’re not sure which fixing will be most suitable, please ask us for advice.
Brakes
The brake on a Manner castor is fitted on the swivel fork trailing the direction of movement.
In the Equipment and Industrial ranges the easy action, the press-to-engage/press-to-release TOTAL-LOCK brake stops the wheel and swivel movement.
The Light equipment castors have a single action that stops wheel movement only.
Directional locking
Directional locking is an invaluable tool when equipment is moved for long distances in a straight line. A directional lock fixes the wheel in the direction of travel. This minimises the effort needed to keep the equipment moving in a straight line. When the directional lock is released, the castors can be turned in any direction and manoeuvred as necessary.
